State Farm® Insurance Agent Bob Covington

"Bob has shown himself not to be a trustworthy or competent agent and State Farm has shown that it does not operate with integrity or ethical behavior. I was a State Farm Customer for 17 years, for 3 different homes in 3 different states. I have never filed a home owner's claim. Last year, I received a letter from State Farm stating my insurance would be cancelled if I did not do certain work to my home (cut down trees near the house, replace my roof, etc.) I called Bob and explained that some of the items could not be done in time, and he told me he would see what he could do. He called me back 1.5 months later and said that he had spoken with the underwriters and gotten approval that my policy would not be cancelled if I did 2 things. I needed to obtain a letter from a reputable roofing company stating the roof did not need immediate replacement and remove the ivy growing on the brickwork. I sent him the roofing letter 6 months ahead of the deadline and asked if there was anything else I needed to do besides removing the ivy. He responded and only told me to send him pictures of the house with the ivy removed. I sent those photos in a month ahead of the deadline. I have attached a screenshot of those emails. Bob then notified me with only 9 days notice that State Farm was cancelling my policy anyway, citing other issues that I was never told of. Bob has shown himself not to be trustworthy or competent, as he refuses to even acknowledge the agreement that we came to last year, and refused to identify which underwriters he had obtained approval from. He and State Farm should be ashamed of their actions and I have filed a complaint with the TN Dept of Commerce and Insurance. Both Bob and State Farm have shown themselves to be deceitful, immoral, and incompetent throughout this ordeal. Don't fall for his lies, you do not want him as your agent and you do not want to be insured by State Farm."

"A few years ago, we had tornadoes in the area. Unfortunately, I had a tree fall on the corner of my house, damaging the house, in the middle of the night. Power out, pitch black, etc. I decided to stay in the house, just in case. I was awoken the following morning about 5:00 a.m. by lights from the outside of the house.
